Either no one caught the reference or they don’t care. I think it’s funny.
I currently live in a house that’s not very old (built in 1956) and am only the fourth owner and I know of two people that died in it. I’m still trying to figure out where the original owners died.

I was surprised when I sold my old place that one of the mandatory disclosures is if someone died on the property within the last ten years. Really? If yes, do I have to disclose any rattling chain noises and/or moaning that I’ve heard lately? Are they allowed to bring in [Tangina](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084516/) to do an inspection?

Didn’t we dis-prove the void-on-death routine?
I believe it was on these boards where an EMT went through the routine:
Unless you are clinching at time of death, nothing automatically comes out.
When moving a body, the tube of toothpaste model applies - compress in the right spot and you get a prize.
Yes, CA requires disclosure if seller of a house knows of a death.
Hint: if it has the oh-so-desirable double parlor: the front parlor was the formal room - children not permitted unsupervised, all the best furniture, where you entertained the Parson when he visited. It was also the place where you laid out your dead. Undertakers spent decades fighting that. Which is why the formal room is now called “Living” room.

There was this really gorgeous leather sofa on craigslist a while back, in the free section. Free because someone had died on it. I would have taken it, husband said no. ☹

Nah, from what I recall, she passed away but a family member was there, so she didn’t sit on the couch and decompose for any appreciable length of time.

When I was little (say, 6 years old), I would play hide-and-seek in the basement of our next door neighbors. The previous occupant of that house hanged herself in the basement shortly before I was born. My parents had already told me about the suicide, but I never really felt crept out by it. It just added nicely to the spooky atmosphere of the unfinished portion of the basement.

I live in a house where somebody died. I’ve stayed in a hospital where lots of people died. I drive on roads where people have died. I worked in a factory where some people died.
It’s no big deal. Everybody dies, and it happens everywhere.

In a previous home we slept in the Death Bedroom of a former occupant. Sometimes I’d wake up in the middle of the night and there was nothing there. :eek:
