It’s just the operation, not the hormones? And it’s perfect, meaning everything works after they are done? It would suck, but I could definitely do it temporarily. I’d probably need only $200,000 or so. With hormones, it would depend on on how bad they made me. From this board, I understand the wrong hormones can leave you suicidal, so I’d need to be very careful. And, even if I did agree, the offer would need to go up. If, for no other reason, I predict I’d need a lot of counseling. ---

If it really came pain and complication free, rather like Samantha Stephens just twitching her nose in Bewitched, and Voila! I’m a man! Sure. I’m old, I’m not the greatest looking woman, I can’t believe my family would care, and the money would come in handy. So yeah, let’s go for it. ---

Although it does depend on the state of current technology, which I am not at all an expert on. As others have said, there are two sides to this question. Principle, and practice. If it was a matter of waving a magic wand, and poof, I was a woman, I would probably do it for a lot less money. Depending on certain specifics, I would do it for free, or actually pay you. Maybe even pay you a very large amount. But in practice? Well, I don’t know how good current tech is in this area, so I would have to research that. Becoming a woman? Fine! Having a half-cocked transition (no pun intended)? Maybe not so fine. ---

When I’m rich I plan on living like a hermit anyway, so I’d definitely seriously consider it. No idea if I’d go ahead with it, though. ---

I don’t need a vagina or boobs to be a woman. SDMB regulars assure me constantly that my penis needn’t prevent me from being a woman. So just give me the bread.
