Would you become a vampire?

Vampire? No, now a Dhampile (aka Vhampyre aka person whose mother is human and whose father is a vampire, or vice versa) HELL YEAH! D KICKS ASS! He can walk the daylight, is invincible to mose vampyric killing devices such as crosses and silver, and the thing that does kill him, stakes, can be cured! I cannot wait for Vampire Hunter D 2 to come out! Go to www.urban-vision.com for more details!

Ophanim definitely has a point. Plus, he gives “talk to the hand” a whole new meaning…

Heck is where you go when you don’t believe in Gosh.

I’m there. In fact, I plan on finding one. I plan on not dying.

Ask the Gay Guy! (or, if you prefer the Jesusfied version, Asketh the damn Priest Guy!)

In my misspent youth, specifically early adolescence, I was quite smitten with the idea, and would have jumped at the chance. Stephen King, IIRC, wrote that in the Bram Stoker novel, in the description of Lucy being turned she was basically coming her brains out. Although this was lost on me at the time, see above, it’s always seemed a highly sexual concept to me,

I agree with PunditLisa, who would want to outlive their family and friends. After the first hundred years or so, you’d have done everything you ever wanted to do. Then life would be boring.

If I had no choice but to become a vampire, then I’d be a ‘good’ vampire living in some decrepit American city like New York, Chicago, or New Orleans killing off all the criminals. Basically be a super-hero.

Living by night? Dressing all in black? Preying on men? Being chased by horrified villagers?

Feh—I already did that in the Eighties.

Millions long for immortality who do not know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

“I want to live forever, or die trying”

I like the episode of Buffy where she meets up with one of her old classmates and it turns out he’s betraying her to Spike cos he’s dying of cancer and he wants to become a vampire.
She: It’s not like that. You die and a demon sets up shop in your body.
He: Oh well. Its better than nothing.
Compared to immortality we’re all suffering from a terminal disease. This is pretty much a worst case scenario as far as becoming a vampire is concerned and I still think he has a point.

Yes, TheNerd, I will admit to liking the taste of blood. But only MY blood. And only in small quantities.

This is too creepy. I gotta go take 7 showers.

you bet…If I could be like Marius I would.

Couldn’t stand life without Garlic. Sorry!

On a side note(read: Hijack), what do blood banks DO with all that blood once it’s too old to use anymore? I mean, do they just pour it down the sink, or what!?

Become a vampire? Join the ranks of the kindred? Live by night for the rest of my life never to see the sun again unless I wish to die (or get enough fortitude)?

Yes I would do it. I role play a couple of vampires actually. (Well soon to be more since one of my c’s her lover is going to embrace her as soon as he gets permission from the Prince)

I think I could handle that. Actually I would like it I think. I like the taste of blood as well, it has a nice coppery taste. (And no I’m not a Goth)

You mentioned Vampire poetry? Its not all bad here I’ll get a sample that I’ve seen of it.

*Strength abounds in every sinew
Glorious power to create and destroy
Vicious creatures of life’s own death
Tied to the cycles of the sun in the sky

Yet forever they are weeping
Bleeding dark tears over far too pale cheeks
Damned to remian the essence of shadows
To stand alone in their anguish and misery.*

and another…

Driven by the dawns breaking light,
Damned creatures of infinate power
and infinate pain.
Cursed to forever seek red mothers milk
Cursed to forever seek their place
amongst the living.

And one more…

*We walk through the shadows
Not from want, but from need.
We hide from the known world with alias’.
Our true nature only ours to know

For we are the creatures of the Masquerade.
Traversing this lifetime and the next
In unwanted solitude.
Taking comfort not in being known by all,
But in being known by each other

And so we gather…*

These weren’t written by me. They were written by Eve who plays the Prince in the RPG I’m at. I have yet to attempt Vampire poetry.

Bargain not with the Darkness: in time it will take us all.

Would I become one

Oh you mean like as in if I weren’t one already…oh ok!

-SS

I can’t stand it. It’s like mindrape.

Of course…and who says you need to be forlorn and dress in black? The first couple hundred years would be a blast…after that, I can always kill myself.

These are good examples of vampire poetry, but they are not examples of good vampire poetry.

Hmmmm, ( or is it HYMMMM) Catholic Priests wear black and work odd hours. So do Vampires. Coincidence?

Dracula, is that rigor mortis setting in or are you glad to see me?
