Supposedly they were short a flight attendant, but in actuality I think they waiting for about 25 crew members who were deadheading. So the excuses ran from a fore mentioned flight attendant to too much fuel, an engine that didn’t want to start, an unknown (to us ) issue, a back up at de-icing, blah blah. And deadheading crew kept boarding. ---

I’m on a cruise right now and so far so good. First half of the cruise had decent masking (masks are ‘recommended’ not ‘required’). Now on the end half, mask use has dwindled to near none. Crew are still required to mask though. Cruise required vaccines and a pre cruise Covid test. Also this cruise is less than half full. ---
