I have been tempted to do it, actually been cruising a strip or two with cash in hand ready to do it, but then reality set in. Instead of seeing hookers like Julia Roberts in _Pretty Woman_, all I saw was crack addicts with bruises and needle tracks and bad make up. Plus the ones who I actually spoke to either smelled bad (yes, they smelled like fish) or were so unclean looking that any sexual thought I had earlier was gone. ---

I did have sex with a prostitute once, but I didn’t pay for it. She was a friend of a friend (I hang out with some lowlifes) and she said she just dug me. ---

I am of the opinion that sex should be an act of love between two people who are committing their lives to each other. I believe that when you have sex with another person, you leave a piece of your soul with them. Since I feel that way, what kind of nutcase would I be to do this with a paid partner? Why in the world would I want some stranger running around with a piece of my soul? Huh? Scotti BTW, this is my decision for me. It is not for me to judge anyone else who feels differently. ---

I agree with your feelings that sex with someone you care about is far superior than with a stranger, but sometimes your needs make you more pragmatic than idealistic. ---

While I think that sex can be fun between consenting adults, and not necessarily for “committing lives to each other”, I do think that sex is special. You should at least _like_ the person you’re with; and from what I’ve heard, hookers tend to hate their “johns”. Besides, paying for the service seems like cheating. I’d rather like to think that I’m with someone who finds me charming, than with someone who just wants my money. ---

Silly,it would be, to spout off about the whole thing, if I didn’t feel strongly about it. I have no problem with other people disagreeing with me, it is not my place to judge other peoples ethics or morals. The thing is, I was not really saying that sex with someone you love is far superior to sex with someone you don’t know. What I was saying is that making love is sacred, and that you should only share it with someone you really want to be within you, in your soul. Now, doesn’t that limit the people you are going to sleep with? It should, IMHO. Scotti ---
