Would you drive from London to New York?

I’ve always wanted to drive from one end of US 1 to the other. I have no idea why.

I’ve done it several times in several different ways. It’s a lot of fun if you enjoy driving though I prefer the northern route (or even the southern one…the one that goes across the middle of the country can be a bit monotonous though, IMHO).

I like driving about the USA, very often avoiding interstates. There is a lot of lovely country in that country.

I glanced at this thread earlier. Then while surfing around I found this site.

Seems like it’s only a matter of time and the drive will an everyday affair.

… you know that link is reporting exactly the same thing as the OP’s link, right?

Seriously. I imagine it would be like driving across Pennsylvania, just ten times as long.

I was thinking more like driving through Utah. Last time I went through there, I was fantasizing about jamming the steering wheel into a straight-ahead position, setting the cruise control and taking a nap. Just hours of featureless salt flats. After a while, you start staring at the odometer to try and confirm that you really are moving.

I got my one and only speeding ticket driving through Utah. I just didn’t see any reason not to drive as fast as my car could handle. The cop didn’t agree.

I would totally want to do this trip, and on a motorcycle.

If I could learn a bit of Russian first, I expect.
