If I were hungry and had nothing better, I’d eat it.

If there was something more appetizing, I would keep the sandwich in the fridge and then the question woukld eventually surface, “Would you eat a four-day-old sandwich?”.

Actually I agree with you. It truly is a Ham Sammich, and it is divine…

It is a slippery slope. I often think about eating something. “Well, I woulda eaten it yesterday. What happened since then?”. 😉

I dunno. A four-year-old would be hard to fit on the bread.

What?

Sure, as long as it was mustard and not mayo. I HATE MAYO!

Mustard, however, is sauce of the Gods. Dammit, Jesus ate mustard, it says so in the Bible! So there!

That’s why you have to put it in a blender first, so it’s spreadable. Honestlly, didn’t you read the offensive joke thread???

Nah. But I’m a vegetarian Jew. So YMMV.

Okay, I’m going away now.

Sure, I’d eat it. Three days in the fridge is _nothing._

I draw the line at eating a sammich [from the toilet](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=190370), however.

“And thus he spake, ‘Mayo, for it is the jelly of Satan, shalt not defile thine sammich.’”

A bit of clarification required for those not familiar with the appropriate biblical verse.

"And Jesus did whip out a nice ham sandwich in the temple to show that the old ways were no more. Horrified were the assembled Rabbis and Jesus spake unto them “Fear not for I do not plan to eat this ham sandwich. And least not plain.” and thereupon Jesus spread thick the stone ground spicy brown mustard and took a big bite. And he preached to the crowd “For while eating swine is no more taboo for those who follow me, eating yellow mustard still brings the wrath of the Lord for it is an abomination.”

I am one of the least picky eaters in the world. However, I will not eat any sandwich that wasn’t made before me less than 5 minutes before. Wilted lettuce, limp oozing tomatoes, and soggy bread have a barf score of inifinity in my world. I would gladly eat two day old sushi served on a used toilet seat before I eat a sandwhich more than 3 hours old.

I’ve eaten a sandwich that was in the back of my truck for three days.

When I was out of town a few years ago I kept 2 pizzas in the trunk of my car. Anytime I was hungry, I’d pull out a slice. That lasted at least three days.

So yes, I’d eat it.

**Sleeepy2** , that is hilarious!

As to the sandwich, I would have to pass if it was stored with the veggies on it. The mushiness factor would be too great after the bread had soaked up tomato ooze and mayo. Should the delicious sandwich have been stored dry (ie: bread, ham, cheese), I would have not hesitated to add condiments to it and enjoy. Stored dry, I probably would give it a shelf life\* of about 5 days.

- My own personal shelf life, not an official FDA shelf life
