Yes but the failure was quite short lived and if the crew had followed the unreliable airspeed procedure, which involves setting a safe attitude and power setting, something a programmed robot could easily do, they never would have stalled in the first place.

I like the idea of a real human being up there trying to save their own skin if something goes wrong. Sure, they might be MORE likely to plow it into the dirt, but at least on the trips that I do survive, I’ll feel more comforted. If I end up riding a face-plant, it’s a few seconds of WTF? and over no matter who/what is (was) up front.
