You’d get to come back, though. C’mon, every mode of travel involves risk. Are the risks associated with space travel higher enough to warrant a “No Way!” Would you have never gotten in a: car, train, airplane…? if they had been newly invented in your lifetime? ---

In an attosecond. Mars too - it would be way cool to see both Earth and Venus in the evening sky (I know Venus would be dimmer than from here, but still pretty bright, I’m guessing) and a blazing Jupiter at midnight. ---

Oh hell’s yeah! In a second–and I don’t really care if I ended up dying behind it, because anyone who knows me would know that I died happy and that would be my optimum way to go. I had one of those old Pan-Am tickets to the moon from the sixties and I’m still royally pissed that I never got to make good on that. Bastards. Stack the deck against me any way you like–I’d still go. 😃 ---

No way. There’s, like, no air up there. And too much that could go wrong. Also, the thought of wearing a decidedly unfashionable space suit upsets me. It would make me look fat! 😛 ---

In a heartbeat. My fondest wish is that before I’m too old, we will develop some sort of cheap technology for spaceflight. It will be simple enough to use that amateurs can do it. A whole subculture of of amateur astronauts will arise, similar to the homebuilt aircraft community. Someone from that community (not me, I’m not especially mechanically inclined) will create replica Apollo hardware and then sell trips. It will be like Civil War reenactment in the quest for authenticity. I want to actually spend 4 days going there, pilot the LM down to a landing, and walk around collecting rocks. One day. ---

I would not pay a million dollars for the trip. There are just too many other things I could spend that much money on (if I had it), which I would prefer. However, if the technology got to the point where we could sell moon tickets for a megabuck, then we probably wouldn’t be all that far from the point where we could sell them for a few grand. And for that price, absolutely. I might have to be medicated for the trip, though: I unfortunately seem to be subject to dropsickness. ---

I would go to the Moon in an instant. And I would go to Mars even if I knew, prior to boarding, that it would be a one-way trip. Caveat: I have no children. That would probably change things. Probably. ---
