# Would you let your 12-year old daughter take pole dancing classes?

No way, no how. Young girls are sexualized and objectified enough in contemporary culture. Encouraging them to imitate strippers is quite disturbing IMO, despite the rhetoric about empowerment or whatever. Pole dancing is a particularly extreme example of this trend, but even mainstream dance classes often seem to include choreography that I think is inappropriate for children.
