I guess it is a bit revealing, but is it only because she’s nine? Like if an older girl wore this, would we really see it as all that revealing? Is it the boots? ---

The makeup is way worse than the dress. But it reinforces my strategy to lock up my daughter when she turns 5. ---

I have a 9yo daughter, and I would not buy that for her or let her wear it, black tights or no. Take away the boots, make the top looser, put a SKIRT on that thing (at least to the knees), and sleeves, and _then_ it might be a very cute goth-themed witch costume more suited for an older girl. Oh, and no makeup. My 9yo is being Harriet Potter for Halloween. Her two best friends are going as Robin Hood and a candy-corn witch. That sort of thing is what I consider suitable for a girl. ---

I know I’m going right to hell for thinking this, but my first thought upon seeing that picture was how the extra little tuft of tulle in front of her crotch looks like a strategically placed vag cover. Like, “Uh oh! Just an inch too short! Here, let’s add an extra blip of tulle and. . . done!” And no, my child would not wear that. If I had a child. I’m a giant, slutty 23 year old and _I’d_ feel weird stepping out in that. I don’t need my labia falling out in public, thanks. ---

No, that would not be a costume I’d purchase for my child. I suppose if she chose to spend her own money on it, I’d work with her to make modifications so that it looked less trampy and provocative. But by the time she put on the black tights & jeans and the black sweater she’d need to keep warm in Wisconsin on Halloween, you probably couldn’t see much of the costume anyway. By the way, I don’t see how this looks like a witch–it looks like bedroom attire for a funky adult weekend. ---

Well, the top is ok, I guess. She ain’t leaving the house without adding pants and fixing the makeup. She can do Elvira/Goth, Undead, KISS, or pretty much anything non-hookery. ---

I love the Children Affected by Aids Foundation logo in the background. To me, the really icky thing about that photo is that the girl is wearing makeup and the slutty outfit but she’s standing there like a 9-year-old, with her little tummy pooched out because she’s kinda slouching. Someone told that kid, “Wear this! Here – let me do your makeup! You’ll look hot!” Blech. Granted, it would be icky in a whole ‘nother way if the 9-year-old was sexin’ it up with a provocative pose. No, I would not let my 9-year-old wear this.
