Would you like to become a cyborg?

I guess, technology must undergo much development before becoming a cyborg would be a viable option for most people.

Is being addicted to technology a loss?

In Indonesia all sex offenders will have a chip allowing Police to know their location and the state of agitation. Similar proposal existed in UK in 2002, but at that time such technology did not exist.

I would love to know more -how many offenders have been implanted? What’s the criteria?

They are not yet – the law passes soon.

It doesn’t appear that the tech is there yet. Cite. But please provide more info. You seem confident that this is imminent.

Thank you for the cite.

Very interesting.

Post Scriptum.

I have been prohibited by the mods to open more topics about my personal situation. I have also gotten into a strong exchange of insults in The Pit. Thus starting next week I am taking a break from SDMB until 2018. I am grateful to everyone who helped me with computer related questions. I will be on Twitter.

Are you tweeting at yourself in some of those?

I hope I can attract followers (in Twitter sense!) and avoid flame wars.

Some Homo Interneticus and Femina Internetica are looking for arguments, but I am mostly looking for a cyberhome. Given that I have had strong cyberarguments with many netizens of this cybergroup, I have to take a break.

Eh. I’ll let others pioneer it.

Of all the possible applications for a brain/computer interface, ranked in terms of excitement, ‘immediate access to social media’ is really far down the list for me.

I don’t use Twitter, but from what I can see it’s about 40% flame wars, 50% misguided social activism based on misconceptions, and 10% poorly Photoshopped Kardashian.

So you’re taking an Interneticus Sabbaticus.

As I have said, today is my last day at SDMB until 2018. There are many people with whom I disagree and argue, but really the place I am looking is cyberhome.

I get that I am supposed to feel bad, but instead I’m wondering how you got a PhD in STEM without a biology professor ever telling you that genus should be capitalized but not species. Homo sapiens, not Homo Sapiens.

No one is suppose to feel bad — I will still be online.

My PhD is not biology.

Good luck! Bye.

Then the solution is to avoid the Pit, isn’t it?
