See if that works better for ya. 😉 And yes I have recently discovered that the ignore function is fantabular! I’ve found that there are just a couple posters who consistently pop into a thread just to shit on it, and I’m finding that the ignore function makes my overall Dope experience much, much more enjoyable. I don’t particularly care if I’m on anyone else’s ignore list. If that’s the case then clearly we’re not communicating anyway, so it’s no skin off my nose. ---

Some time ago I started an “Am I Invisible” thread because I would post answers to questions and then 25 other posters would post guesses or conjectures or rumours after my post as though it didn’t exist. Lots of people said that it is not a unique experience. ---

I intentionally search for don’t ask’s posts, so that I can post other guesses, conjectures, or rumors as if don’t ask doesn’t exist. In other news, why would someone convinced they are invisible post 4.2K times? ---

Okay, I’ve never used the Ignore function, and a question just occurred to me: If I had, for example, **Don’t Ask** on my Ignore List, what happens when he creates a thread? Is he truly invisible? Do I see subsequent posts with no OP? I guess I could just try it and see but I’m too damned lazy. ---

What happens when, feeling a bit conflicted, I put ShibbOleth on both my ignore and buddy lists? Or, feeling less conflicted, try to add ShibbOleth to my ignore list twice – does it cancel out, or does it become double, secret ignore? ---

For normal posting, **Don’t Ask** ’s post would look almost exactly like **Ludovic** ’s above. **Lud** recreated it pretty well. IIRC, you would still see any threads **Don’t** started. And if anyone quoted one of his/her posts you’d see it in the quote. ---

Is it sort of analogous to a Stalker list? Or does it make sure you don’t go diving by yourself or get lost when venturing into GD? ---

Oh, I see. I added you to my Buddy List. Then I clicked on “Open Bussy List” and there was a pop up that listed your Userid as being currently logged on to the Dope. And there was a list of “my buddies” who were not logged on. It’s exactly like the Buddy List in AIM (if you use that.) I’ve never used the one here before.
