Lemme think about it … HELL. YES. As one poster here has in a sig line: “I must leave this planet, if only for an hour.” - Antoine St. Exupery. (Apologies if I misspelled the name.) I’d probably be a science officer as well. Hey, maybe even captain of a science vessel, conducting warp field experiments out in deep space. Of course, I’d have to make sure there were plenty of attractive, intelligent female officers aboard. And the holodecks. ---

If it’s allowed, then it would be the show DS9, and I’d be CPT/Cmdr Sisko’s dad. He lives in a utopia where you apparently don’t actually have to work, but because he wants to, he runs a nice little restaurant and his biggest concern in life is serving up the best gumbo in town. Life don’t get much better than that. ---

I’ve always wondered how it is that whenever any of the ship’s officers needed a holodeck for some experiment or something it was always available. Why is it that they don’t have to knock on the door and hear, “Just a minute! JUST A MINUTE!” ---

I’d assume that at least one or two of them are reserved for training exercises, etc., and thus are available on a set schedule. Thus when they need one for ship’s business, it’s a simple matter of glancing at the schedule to make sure it’s free, and if someone’s using the reserved one for shuttle pilot training or whatever, we simply don’t hear them getting the order to vacate it in favor of the senior staff. ---

No. The Dope is bad enough. If I had a holodeck, I’d probably dash in and never come out again. I mean, seriously, _holodecks_? Those things would end civilization. Hey, you wanna fuck a supermodel? All the time? Three at a time? In free fall over Baja California? Go right ahead! Wait, what’s that? You wanna blow up the Death Star? Be my guest! No, I couldn’t handle the technology. I need a world with fewer distractions, not frigging holodecks. ---

Oh gods, yes! LOL In fact, I’ve RPed various ST races (see my .sig :)) so definitely have ideas as to what I’d like to be. Now my favorite race that I’ve rped is probably Ferengi, but I’d have to be a male Ferengi because the females are treated … well, poorly doesn’t begin to cover it!! Made for some really fun RP though. 😉 I’ve also RPed a Bajoran and really enjoyed that, although I wouldn’t have wanted to be Bajoran during the Cardassian occupation. :eek: The most intriguing ST race to me is the Trill, the joined race whose “slugs” (gah, so sorry, I can’t recall the name of that part of the species right now!) can live through many hosts over several centuries. I’ve also RPed as a Vulcan and still find them very intriguing although the emotion-supressing I’m not sure I could do. 😃 Perhaps I’ve put a bit too much time into thinking about this, eh …? 🙂 ---

Back again. Yes, I think it’d be fun to try living in the ST universe. If I had my druthers, I’d want to be either captain or first officer of a _Sovereign_- or _Intrepid_-class starship (I’ve always thought those ships were 'way cool) sometime after the Dominion War. Exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life, boldly going, etc., as well as having all the literature, music and history of the galaxy to enjoy while off-duty.
