I have done so, and a photograph of me was sold at an charity auction, so somewhere out there I am framed and hanging on a wall. Edit: Im not sure if I’d pose for a painting though, because I think I’d find it tedious to sit there after awhile. ---

Posed nude for an artist I was dating, she did a nice drawing. Showed it to my roommates who I thought would give me a lot of hell over it but they didn’t…I looked into posing for the art classes in college, what stopped me was that they wanted people who could hold a static pose for a long time and since I have mild Tourrette’s that would have been a bit of a challenge. Still life with twitches? I’m pretty comfortable with how I look - if it’s artistic I’d be game. ---

No photos. I wouldn’t have a problem with being an artist’s model, but doubt it will ever happen. ---

Nope. Partly because I don’t like the way my body looks, and would find it gross to look at in picture form. But mostly because I find that the purpose of all modern\* nude art seems to be trying to make something sexy or gross. There doesn’t seem to be anyone who truly just wants to show the “beauty of the human form,” even though they all _say_ that. Yeah, it’s based entirely on my own experience with artists. Heck, the ones that do nudes seem to be the most perverted people I know. But if I find such art distasteful, why would I have anything to do with it? \*I’m not even sure that earlier nude art didn’t have the same flaws. It’s just that I am far enough removed from the culture of that time that I don’t find it sexy. But I’m sure the more scientific drawings were okay. And the impressionist ones. But, with so little detail, it’s not like the model actually needs to be nude to pull those off in modern times, so my prudery would win out in that case. ---

I would have when I was younger and about 40 pounds lighter. These days I’d be too embarrassed. ---

I went to an arts school and was toying with the idea of being a nude model for life drawing. The pay was friggin good and I had a way in, I was just nervous I couldn’t sit still long enough. For me, that would be WAY more embarrassing than an erection. ---

I’ve actually had to photograph myself nude, when I was in art school, and that was on display for a week in the school, where people knew me (along with 20 other naked people they also knew, so no big deal). I’ve also posed for others. As others in the thread have mentioned, life drawing models come in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and ages, so by the time of the photographing I was already familiar with the idea that your body doesn’t have to be perfect. ---

That sounds like a hell of a demanding class requirement. You must photograph yourself nude so it can be displayed at the school for a week? And nobody objected to this? ---

I would. I have, in fact, posed in a loincloth when I was much younger. I’m not ashamed of my body, although I have every right to be. I have some nude drawings of Pepper Mill, but she posed clothed for them, with the artist copying the naked parts from the classic painting we were imitating. ---

You should’ve asked when I was in my early twenties. Back then, I worked out a helluva lot, ran for miles, and I was _in shape_. These days, if I was nude, the result of capturing my image couldn’t really be called art. Assault, maybe. ---
