Would you pump your own gas?

They might in some states, but the locks are present in GA at least.

Presumably, the Guardian Angel’s hanging around by the pumps anyway, and pumping the gas doesn’t increase his likelihood of getting shot. As such, I don’t think it’s immoral exactly if I let them pump my gas for me. Of course, it’d cause the overwhelming, need-to-be-Mother-Theresa kind of guilt that Carnalk mentioned, so it’s probably not worth it on that front.

All this is besides the point, though, since the bullets this guy’s using go through bulletproof vests, no? I doubt that my car would be much protection, since it’s not exactly an armored personnel carrier. What does anybody gain by not getting out of the car, except for perhaps being a slightly less visible target? What good does it do anyone for these guys to volunteer to pump gas?

I think if I was living in the D.C. area, I would just pump gas somewhere away from the interstates. And wearing a bullet-proof vest is worthless when it’s a head shot as was done with one victim.

I pumped my gas about 30 minutes ago, not too far from the interstate. It was eerily quiet, as I was the only one there. And there was a relatively tall building right next door - the agricultural library, I believe. I kept thinking it would make a great place for someone to shoot from, since it seemed to be well within range.

But I stood outside my car and waited for the gas to completely fill my tank. And then left.
