I don’t mind being a woman, but I don’t think I would be upset if I woke up one day as a man either. I don’t really think one sex has it better than the other in western societies (clearly, if I were to live in the Middle East, I’d rather be male). Being a woman is unpleasant in some ways but in other ways men have it harder. One thing I envy about men is that they are not under as much “biological clock” pressure as women are. A 40 year old man can usually father a child. A 40 year old woman should not count on being able to get pregnant. It would be handy for my career if I had more time left before I have to squeeze in some kids. ---

If I was like myself except a man that would be bad. I would make a lame man. But I wouldn’t be like myself because of different hormones and life experience and all that, so I don’t really know how to answer. ---

I have often wondered what it is like to be a woman but I have never actually wanted to become one. I like being a man just fine. ---

Not transexual, so no, I don’t want to be a woman. Being with a woman, that would be rather nice. I think, hard to remember for sure. ---

Guy here. I might sound like just another pig now, but what the heck, I’ll take one for the team: Ideally, I’d want a woman’s body, but with my current (predominantly straight male) sexual orientation and gender identity. I would have been an awesome tomboy bisexual woman. (Although I’m sure that situation would have had its own problem, too.) The idea of being a very feminine, straight woman has very limited appeal (although I’m sure happy that they exist). ---

I have my moments of gender dysphoria, but for the most part, this whole male thing… yeah, it’s pretty much me. But if I could be a lady for a day, sure. 🙂 ---

Since my interests and aspirations align more closely with those associated with traditional male roles, I’d gladly have switched genders at birth. I would have fit into society a lot better as a male, I think. ---

I’d definitely rather have been born a woman. Women live 5 to 10 years longer than men. There is no other greater advantage than that. ---

Eh, I don’t see that it makes much difference. I mean, I’d kind of like to try being a woman, but that’s just a matter of curiosity: Were I a woman born, I would feel similarly curious about what it’s like being a man. Mostly, though, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I was born male, and that’s OK, and had I been born female, that would be OK, too. ---

I don’t feel very attached to my female identity. I’m not upset or disturbed about being a woman in general. But I often feel like I’m playing a role and only doing a fair-to-middling job at it. I definitely feel like the undercover dude when I’m in a group of women. But I don’t like this feeling. And I don’t really like being “one of the guys” in a group of guys. So I don’t think I’d want to be an actual guy. Also, I can get away with more gender nonconformity now than I could as a male. Wouldn’t want to give that up. ---

Well, let me think about this: I get out of the shower, run my hands through my hair, put on shorts and a t-shirt and I’m not only ready to go, I’m ahead of 50% of the other males just because I put on a clean shirt. Definitely stay male, this is too easy. ---

One thing I would kill for would be the ability to give birth. For you straight guys this isn’t much of a problem, you can find a woman to have your babies for you for free! For us gay men who want to have kids, its often a much more expensive and legally messy process, even when it is possible! If being a woman meant I could have a kid (and I do realize not all women can bear children) I would seriously consider it, to an extent.
