They actually made a [Titanic II movie](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanic_II) already, based on a (then) fictional ship called Titanic II, although it’d be silly to think fiction would become reality.

I’d go.

I assure you it will be. God himself couldn’t sink this ship.

I would be there in a heartbeat. I would even pay for it. Le me know went it is time to save he crazy, pseudo-suicidal chick from faking jumping overboard and point me nearest cargo hold entrance. I do wonder how many life-boats they are going to have on this one though. The fewer the better. I don’t want them screwing up the views from the decks.

Years ago I read a sorta-science-fictionany short story about a richer-than-Og guy who built an exact replica of Titanic to sink it in the same spot — and it sold out. As I recall, everyone aboard wanted to kill themselves out of boredom, after one last party.

So when the replica-Titanic news story appeared, I figured that anyone who buys a ticket wouldn’t have read that story. Since I did, I voted against tempting fate. Besides, I’d end up in third class and I can’t dance Irish jigs.

I’d go if it was free. Otherwise, no. I’m not really that interesting in cruise trips. But no superstition issues.

It’ll probably be less unpleasant than crossing the Atlantic on airliner coach, when the ship’s finally ready. At least the security sweep won’t involve twin endoscopes.

Clive Palmer is certifiably insane, an egomaniac and greedy to the point of obsession. I wouldn’t associate with any project of his of any nature whatsoever.

I’ve thought it would be okay, but only if it’s done in a period way. Sure, have better technology, but keep it mostly hidden. Give people the feeling of actually being on the Titanic. If you do that, then that would be flipping awesome.

(If they want electronics for their downtime, they can bring their own. Provide wi-fi or something.)

Other: Cruise ships make me think of a prison\*. After an hour, I’m bored out of my skull and want to escape. And no, I don’t care how big the ship is.

\*Not that I’ve ever been in prison.

This would be particularly cool. I’d be down in a heartbeat.

I’m going slumming in 3rd class-like Rose and Jack.
I’d also steal a coat from 1st class-and nsneak into the 1st class dining saloon. Cigars and brandy with the bigwigs!

I liked the one cruise I was on. I’m not superstitious, but the Titanic, Brittanic, and Olympic, all sister ships, all sank. So, no thank you.

I don’t trust Clive Palmer. If it were anyone else, and especially if they did the first cruise in a steam-punk period mode, I’d be all over it. (Assuming I had the money, which I don’t.) This is a guy who accused GreenPeace of being a CIA front.

So, “No”, but not because of superstition.

Olympic [**didn’t sink**](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Olympic). Wikipedia:

> Unlike her younger siblings, Olympic enjoyed a long and illustrious career of 24 years, from 1911 to 1935. This included service as a troopship during World War I, which gained her the nickname “Old Reliable. . . .”

You see, I would totally go, AS LONG AS they totally acknowledged that, Yes, God could sink the ship, but we fervently hope that He doesn’t, AND they promised not to try to beat its ETA by going into Iceberg Alley.
