# Would you sell your citizenship?  For how much?

Gimme enough money, and I’ll do it (alot of money. And Ferraris. And a killer house). Somewhere there is skiing.

But then again, they ain’t offering money to go somewhere like that, are they?

Eh. I’ll just stay being here, on my dry lake.

For something in the range of $1M, I’d move to one of two general areas:

- The Anglosphere, for easier cultural adjustment
- Developed East Asia (HK, Singapore, Taiwan, S Korea, Japan), which would require learning a language but offers more dynamic lassiez-faire economies and more congenial tax policies.

I’m not using my US citizenship, and don’t expect I ever would again, so someone else can have it.

My Australian one, would not part with, I live here.

I would make an even trade of my US citizenship with EU citizenship, with the understanding that we might trade back in the future. I’m not, I dunno, anti-US or anything, but I’m not terrifically patriotic either, and I wouldn’t mind living in the EU for awhile. (But not Bulgaria. I mean like, a real part of the EU that doesn’t keep having development funds frozen as punishment for corruption.) Or possibly another wealthy country, like Canada or Australia.

However, I would probably not be interested in trading or selling my citizenship in return for that of any developing nation. Being the citizen of a wealthy nation has a lot of advantages. I’m cool with _living_ in developing countries, I just like my blue passport that says I can go back to the US any time I like.
