# Would you trust them if you were Rudolph?

Frankly, it always upset me that the song begins with, “You know Dasher and Dancer and… but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?”

Well, first of all, I don’t think many people can even name all the other reindeer, let alone claim to _know_ them. And, if you are admitting that Rudolf is the most famous of all the reindeer, then it’s pretty obvious that we’re all going to recall him, right?

Fuck that shit. Then it goes on to reinforce the idea that it’s ok to hate and tease people with disfigurements, deformities or disabilities until they prove their value to society.

Well, considering that the character was invented for the purpose of the song, it would be logical that the person hearing it for the first time in 1948 would know Dasher and Dancer &c, but might need reminding about the most famous reindeer of all.
