Well, if they suspended it over something more interesting than a random residential neighborhood, I might be interested. But the view seems a bit unspectacular. As for the height – doesn’t seem that different in degree from being on a ski lift. Wind would be an issue. Any sort of breeze and you’d be losing entrees off the table. ---

This strikes me as the kind of thing where, were anything untoward to happen, you’d get a lot of “what the hell did you expect?!” responses. ---

I wouldn’t. It’s too lame. suspend the table from the bottom of a big blimp and take it somewhere interesting (you could even alter the menu to match the scenery way below), or keep it aloft with VTOL jets or something, but a big ass crane? Meh. ---

Picture a couple of modern towers on opposite sides of a big open plaza, with a big arch rail between them (like roller coaster tracks). The kitchen is in the first tower. You reach the restaurant & order, and have drinks. When the food is ready, you sit in the open-air dining car, and the car slowly moves out the side of the building, and reaches the opposite tower an hour later. You can leave there, or you can order dessert, take a ten minute bathroom break, and make the return trip while having dessert & coffee. Moving between the two points can keep the view dynamic, especially if you make the return trip, during which the sun would be setting. Leave the first tower in the sunlight & return looking over the city lights surrounding you. Oh, and the bar makes the trip across the plaza with the dining car, of course. ---
