The last time my body was Speedo-worthy was about 20 years ago at age 28 or so. Now, I’ll make more money if you pay me not to wear one. If you have the underwear-model body that women actually want to see - go for it. The rest of us? Our time has passed. Let the kids have their fun! ---

There’s quite a double standard in place these days, isn’t there? During the same batch of years in which minimalist female beachwear has gone wedgier and smaller from bikini to frenchcut to thong, the trend in male coverage has moved from roughly the contours of jockey undies to bulky capri-pants thingies that cover everything from hips to knees. And while there’s no shortage of attitudes about muffin-tops and visual TMI on the part of some specific women who are considered bad candidates for the revealing swimwear that they’ve chosen, it seems that there’s a much more pervasive attitude that unless you’re in some kind of vanishingly small category of male physique, if you wear swimshorts that reveal your body contours and show lotsa skin, it’s all “Ewww, brain bleach please, c’mon dude no one wants to see that, please cover up willya?!” It’s not just beachwear and tight nylon stretchy stuff, either. I’ve been out for walks this summer in a skirt and at other times wearing cutoff shorts that are extremely abbreviated by today’s standards (maybe 3" of pants leg). I actually got more astonishment and giggles from the shorts, maybe because the skirt was longer (past the knees by a few inches). Younger guys (who of course grew up with this) who go to the beach must have some awfully silly tan lines. ---

I’m sure the OP has a legitimate interest in men wearing speedos and whether men prefer wearing boxers or briefs and not some type of fetish, so please everyone, keep answering … preferably with lots and lots of details. ---

When one of my friends got married in Brazil a few years back, he gave Speedos to all the men in our gift bags. Like one guy wore it in public. I still have mine, but it’s a bit tight in the crotch. ---

Even if I were in shape, I would have something stick out that I wouldn’t want to. It’s bad enough in briefs. ---

When we were newlyweds, my dear bride bought me a Speedo. And when we toured the Caribbean later that year, she insisted that I wear it. I was in decent shape, but it felt a bit uncomfortable. Not from a modesty point of view but instead from a physical perspective. Too tight and not because I am over-endowed but because she probably bought the wrong size. But, I endured. 🙂 ---

My wife tried to find me a speedo to wear in Hawaii - they are surprisingly hard to find. I’d have no issues wearing one, although I think they are a bit out of fashion. ---

I don’t have a speedo brand one but I do wear really short briefs to the beach. Why wouldn’t I? They’re comfortable and make getting a good tan easier, not a no line one but still good. ---

I wear Speedo(s) every day to the pool. But then, I’m a girl, and obviously because I added the ‘s’, I’m Australian. At the pool or on the beach, no-one would look twice at a bloke in Speedos though I will admit they can get a bit of grief, eg. “Nice budgie smugglers!” ---
