So I’m traveling for work today and was flying out of O’Hare. I’m waiting at my gate and see this dude wearing an orange t-shirt that says" I Love Vaginas" in 4" letters with the Kool-Aid man image saying "_Oh yeah!!!_. On the back it repeated the “I love vaginas” slogan, with some clothing company name. Dude was probably 40, short, skinny and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm. He was also traveling with his wife/girlfriend around the same age. I’m a pretty open minded person, and don’t find the shirt offensive, but it strikes me as not really appropriate in public. What are your thoughts? ---

I wouldn’t wear such a shirt and would assume that anyone who is wearing one in an airport is desperately seeking attention. ---

Would I wear such a shirt in public? No. In the privacy of my own home? No. While shoveling chicken shit so that it could be thrown away afterward? No. ---

Our company policy is we’d refuse to transport him until he changed his shirt. Whether or not the specific gate agent or flight attendants involved would choose to enforce the policy depends on how he, they, and any other customers reacted. One word of unhappiness from another customer, or any attitude from him and it’d be game over for that shirt for sure. My non-expert opinion is that that most carriers have similar policies in place. As you might imagine, no, I wouldn’t wear a shirt like that in public. Nor one that says “I [heart] NY.” That’s another pretty obnoxious thing to share with otherwise innocent bystanders. 🙂 Small digression: One of my favorite bumper stickers down here says > [@Bumpersticker](#): > > [Heart] NY? > Take I-95N ---

I am reminded of the gentleman I encountered in a Target (with a woman who appeared to be a significant other, and two under-10 children in tow) wearing the following t-shirt: FRONT: “Wanna spend the night?” BACK: “The couch pulls out, but I don’t.” I was then, and still am, shocked that anyone would want to be seen wearing that in public. But, different folks, and all that… ---

For some reason the shirt as described seems absurd enough on purpose to not ping my distaste meter. I wouldn’t go out and wear it personally, but if I saw it in a shop I’d point it out to a friend, pretend model it for a second, and laugh about how it’s trying a little too hard to be edgy hipster before moving on. It’s the kool-aid guy that seals the deal on this take. It feels like a whole different beast from the ones talking about demeaning women in bed or talking about how great their cocks are. ---
