This is my first time back to the boards and I’m a bit put off. I haven’t had time to explore yet, but at the moment the new scheme bothers me - I really enjoyed the simplicity and minimalocity of the text-based boards. I know that there must be plenty of threads like this already, but I don’t have much motivation to look around for them right now. I’m sure you are all still just as cool with great things to say, but I feel like I’m in a theme park with y’all when I really just want to take you camping and chat around a campfire under the stars. To make this thread different and keep it unlocked, I’ll turn it into a **game** /poll. Maybe this should really be in IMHO but I’m so much more at home in MPSIMS. What’s your creative metaphor for your opinion of the new boards? mine: I love California but I go there for Yosemite, not Disneyland. (p.s. I don’t discredit the designers of the new scheme; it looks great, I just don’t like it.) ---

I don’t mind it, but the challenge of properly doing vB stuff was part of my fun. Now with all these buttons if I try to challenge myself and do it wrong, I look stupid. ---

If you go to the “user cp” (your control panel) at the top of the screen, then into “Edit Options” and scroll to the bottom, you can turn off those buttons. ---

You should still consider which forum is the appropriate one for your post/thread. ---

I like the new look. Was disoriented at first, but that wore off after half a dozen posts or so. If I had a metaphor it would be a positive one. But it’s too late to think of one right now… 😛 ---

I was wondering where you went off to, **whatmove**. The colors bother me too. Too sterile and drab. As for the coding … I still just type it all in because I don’t want to mess up and I’m too lazy to actually try to figure it all out. I tried to use the font size/color option one, but it didn’t work. Oh well. Taste the Rainbow. The_old_ rainbow. ---
