Oh and there were some Justice Department studies back in the 1980s that showed clearly that male offenders got harsher sentences than women offenders for the same crimes. I cannot for the life of me find these two studies. ---

I read the article through twice, from start to finish, and could not find it anywhere. In fact, the word “men” does not even appear in that article, and the author makes no attempt to compare sentences for men and women. The only thing the article has to say about lesser punishments is that some women get lesser punishments than _other women_ for killing their kids, depending on circumstances of the case, which state it is in, etc., etc. You citation is completely dishonest, because it never says what you claim it says. ---
