Another vote for the Cowboy Junkies’ version of “Sweet Jane”. Johnny Cash’s cover of “Hurt” has been mentioned umpteen times already, but I also find [Eric Whitacre’s slow and quiet choral arrangement](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVlwPujkmLA) genuinely unsettling. At 7 minutes long, it’s a very different vibe. ---
