Every now and again, I get the urge to start a good pit-style rant… The last couple days I’ve been getting more and more pissed off at myself… so, tonight when my wife announced that she was going to bed, I figured I’d go outside, have a smoke, and get a good long rant straight in my head… Then the strangest thing happened… while chilling out and enjoying my ciggy, I raised my arm to take a drag… the course leather of my coat sleave creaked in the coolest way. The utter coolness of that leather creaking made me litterally take a step back and think about, well, everything… My pissed off attitude suddenly faded away, and I started to take note of just how cool different things were… I admired the the hazy darkness of the rainy night… I took note of the sound of the cars speeding by on the moist road… I watched my neighbors’ dogs romp about in the shadows… So I came inside, grabbed a laptop, and decided to post something other than a rant… I’m actually pretty impressed with the beauty of life… feel free to ignore this entire thread… I just wanted to write for a while. I may be a BOFH, but I’m still a creative writer. 😉 ahhhhh drivel… ain’t it grand? as for why I’ve been pissed off at myself… I think that’s a different thread… a good writer always leaves his audience begging for more. (I’ll try to lurk less and post more… if people are curious) ---

I’ve had days like that. One time I was out walking after class and noticed how the cars lined up at the parking meters looked an awful lot like a row of feeding animals. Made me smile. I think spacing out like that is nature’s way of keeping you from throwing yourself in front of a train after frustrating days… ---

kindred spirit here. Makes you wonder why some people spend so much time chasing after. . . stuff, when it’s all right there.
