Wow - what's happening at "9 Chickweed Lane"?

There is also a highly irritating cat, the less said about whom the better.

What an easy buncha skeeves we got 'round here. You folks stay away from the manga.

Oh, trust me, I do.

Ohmigod.

What did she do?

She didn’t do what I think she did, did she?

She could simply be reacting to a rather potent change in her relationship with a cherished childhood friend – she’s now taken things to a whole new level, and is realizing that this situation can have dramatic consequences.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Let’s hope this storyline is continued Monday.

It’ll probably be a wasted week of “Hallmarks of Felinity”, though.

Yeah, but she was out really late. I mean really late.

[sub]…how many times you figure those long, long ballet-dancer legs could wrap around a skinny little guy like Amos?[/sub]

Did I slip into a coma?

We don’t what exactly happened “last night” and “today” Edda packs her bags to go to the audtion for the ballet troupe. Mom, who is generally over-protective, does nothing?

Brooke has given me enough pleasure over the years that I hate to acknowledge Zebra’s “inconsistent writing” comment, but this is some crazy inconsistent behavior on two character’s parts.

Juliette: “Oh, Edda’s gotten on the train and gone away to the big city to join the Ballet! She’ll be staying with Uncle Whomever for the foreseeable future! I guess she won’t be going to school any more! Have some more coffee?”

Grandma: “At least we won’t be seeing her mopey face around here! Two sugars, please!”

Speaking of Pibgorn, check out who’s making a guest appearance today (12/07, if you find yourself looking in the archives after today).

Did you see this past Sunday’s 9 Chickweed Lane?
Sheese!

Yes, it’s upskirt shots in the comics.

So, is what’s happening this week Edda’s audition? I’m a bit lost . . .

She’s just messing around in an empty rehearsal studio, not knowing that the board she wants to audition for is watching her from another room (which adds a creepy dimension to the “upskirt” comment earlier).

They will all fall in love with her indviduality. Which is of course what they look for in new members to a ballet company.

It’s a little creepy, but I imagine they’ll just say they saw enough in her exercises and she clearly has talent and a love of dance.

Or something like that.

Maybe that’s the way they audition all the ballerinas at this fictional troupe?

Or, “Get the fuck off of the piano.”

If you think Brooke obsesses about drawing lithe women in spandex now, wait’ll Edda joins that metropolitan ballet company. Every frame of every strip is going to look like a Danskin ad or a Degas composition.

And this is a bad thing… why?
