I really just can’t fathom how people can have such a complete and total lack of empathy for another human being that they would do this. Not only that but that they would film it and sell it. How completely devoid of humanity do you have to be to do this? This is a sad, sad world we live in. ---

Well I’ve been doing some research on this. The girl IS MR. Some of the desciptions said that she was smiling while the stuff was going on. It wasn’t intercourse rape, thank God, but still… From the orgional description I thought that the physical stuff was done to her as part of the rape…like I don’t know…some S&M sex shit gone horriblely wrong. From what I understand, the video was more about incredibly obnoxious thug behavoir. Like they would target homeless people, and set random people’s hair on fire and things like that. :eek: I had orgionally thought that this might have been a popular kid joke…looks like we have a bunch of really twisted sick bastards who might even be mentally ill. I still cannot believe that some people thought that video was funny…Damn those bastards…and you know that most of them are gonna get off with a slap on the wrist! :mad: ---

Maybe the term rape is used differently in Oz. From what I’ve read it wasn’t vaginal intercourse, but rather a forced blowjob. I really really hope and pray that this case ends up with the boys in an insistution for the criminally insane. ---

That is just sick. That poor girl will be scarred for life and there is a chance that all those boys will get is a slap on the wrist and a stern “Don’t do that again”, type lecture. I’m not really sure how I feel about the possible penalties that these morons might attract when they end up charged and going through the court system. On one hand, they are still young, and I believe in the hope and possibility of redemption for ALL offenders, especially youthful ones. However, once they enter the penal system, there is every chance that they will exit with even more hardened attitudes, and will feel that seeing they have ‘done their time’, they are free to go out and fuck up again. It will be such a blot against their names, they will NEVER have a chance to be rehabilitated into regular society in the future. On the other hand, I feel that what they have done is so heinous that they have forfeited any rights to consideration for rehabilitation and forgiveness from society. These offences (and especially the making of the DVD later) indicate to me that these boys (and all those who have cheered and supported them along the way) have missed out on some vital socialisation somewhere along the line that allows them to regard the abject abuse of another human being as somehow entertaining. Not only to give them their jollies, but they also feel that these acts have increased their kudos amongst their peers. Such a warped attitude leaves me with fear that the boys can never be trusted again. I dunno. Something went terribly wrong with these kids and their fan club, but I’m not sure what. As I said in a previous post, it is easier to accept one or two freaks…you can put that down to sociopathy or psychopathy or whatever label you want to stick on the ‘evil’ elements of society. But when you’ve got so many of the bastards out there collectively committing such fundamentally bad acts , it makes you wonder what other forces are at play here.
