# Wrong number calling my cell

As a child, our home phone number was very close to a local bar. The worst wrong numbers were the kids calling after 11pm looking for a parent. My mother hated answering the phone at 1am to hear a little girl say in the saddest voice “Is my Daddy there?” Just kills.

I’ve been guilty of dialing wrong a few times. There’s a local lumber yard that has a number that’s very similar to a friend’s number. More than once I’ve called to order building supplies and ended up with a lovely 45 minute visit with my friend instead. I always look those two numbers up now before I call because I still can’t keep them straight.

Well, my Semitic friend has returned. I got a phone call about an hour or so ago from a collection agency that had my number as this asshole’s contact info. She referred me to Experian so I can get my phone number taken off of this guy’s credit report, but Experian won’t talk to me unless I have my credit report number, which of course wouldn’t help.

What can I do? I know this guy’s assholery isn’t going to affect my credit, I just don’t want to be called anymore.
