There has been a scandal brewing for days and now there’s a front-page story in the NY Times on sexual assaults at the Academy. What happened to honor? What happened to acting like a gentleman? As if the rapes themeselves weren’t bad enough, the attitude of the Academy is mind-boggling. Not only have they tried to cover this up, but they have, in at least one case, blamed the female cadets, as one was told it was at least partially her fault because she got drunk. She’s raped, and then gets an infraction for having sex! There are other grevious examples outlined in the article. (As a former marine I certainly am not a basher of the military. I feel strongly that the honor of wearing the uniform should mean something!) ---

So do I, **King**. Imagine, I may eventually have to take orders from one of these cadets. I hope they root out the cancer and get rid of it. All of it. Anything less is a stain upon my service and a poor reflection upon the Armed Services in general. ---

I saw a report on this on… 20/20 a few weeks ago, I believe. Amazingly horrifying and, I would imagine, embarassing.
