This makes them stack very neatly, especially when arranged in order of denomination, while still being easily distinguishable by size (and indeed shape - they’re the only notes I’ve seen where denominations differ by shape as well as size and colour). It doesn’t hurt that Swiss notes are attractively designed. ---
