I saw a glimpse of this on the news this morning, but only saw the last few seconds of the piece. Did I see it right? Some Darwin’s award candidate climbed into a lion’s cage at the zoo? And someone videotaped it. I’ve been searching for a news article online about this but haven’t been successful so far. Has anyone found a link? This goes into the pit because I’m sure we’ll have some choice words for the bozo. That is, unless I misheard and the guy tumbled in accidentally . . . ---

I’m just glad the police officer fired into the air to distract the lion, instead of killing it. Would have been a shame to see a magnificent creature like that lose its life to save some damned fool. Although voices from God telling the would-be matador what to do sounds more like a severe mental illness than foolhardy stupidity. ---

Lions are entirely too intelligent to feast upon the flesh of humans, unless they are forced to do so out of ravenous hunger - but they may play with us if we wander into their territory - rather rough play, in fact! Which, unfortunately (kidding) didn’t occur in this case.
