Seriously? People didn’t like this episode? I thought it was one of the best Simpsons in years - it was hysterical the whole way (except when they gave the Texas cowboy OCD, which was a bit annoying.) I think the usual story structure with the main plot not starting until after the first break has gotten a bit strained of late, and telling the whole thing as one self-contained story arc (albeit a complicated one) was a refreshing change. Plus the story was funny - and it had great scenes, like when the sheep turned around to headbutt Burns’s table. Plus learning about Snake’s past was great. And seeing how Krabapple got her start in Springfield - with a sort of implicit wink to the way the kids don’t age - was excellent. And c’mon, “She had the rack of an angel” - brilliant! I thought it was pretty much on par with the show’s heydey several years back. Which, given the way the show’s gone for the past few seasons, is something of an achievement. ---

I was surprised at the first few posts–I agree this was one of best episodes in a long time. The story-within-a-story-within-a-story was done very well. It also made me think of the episode with the same events being told from Homer’s, Lisa’s, Marge’s, and Bart’s perspectives (the one with Homer’s severed thumb). When The Simpsons gets it right, it’s fantastic! ---

I’m usually a new episode hater and I loved this episode. - “I’ll out the one of you that’s gay.” - “I was a perfect gentleman…so she was letting me do her.” - Moe’s “gun”. - Burns on the stair-elevator. - Homer’s toupee. Classic episode. ---

I also thought it was quite funny. But I was distracted by wondering how they could see so far down in a cave with no lights. ---

I also thought it was great episode. I think the OP is just assuming all new Simpsons suck. Even a bad Simpsons is far funnier than 95% of whats on TV. But I got alot of big laughs out of this one. How about that Edna? Shes had quite a history of boyfriends. Skinner, Comic Book Guy, and now Moe. Am I missing any other total losers? ---

I thought this was the best episode in a while. Since the whole thing was a story/excuse that Bart was telling Skinner, I don’t think we are meant to take any of the events depicted as cannon. What does Lisa say just before Mr. Burns says, “Liberal midget.”? ---

Better ep than usual this time. I actually paid attentiont the whole way through. 'Course, I usually get at least a few chuckles out of even a bad episode. Better than can be said for most sitcoms. ---

What was the ending? I got as far as Skinner looking out the window and saying something like “What a load of… Krabapple and Moe?!” Then the clock turned to 20:30:00 and that was the end… :mad: ---
