Sorry I was just struck by the fact that there had been more views to the Russian bride/Honey thread than to the Pit Rules thread. Guess it just pissed me off a little. Oh, the Humanity…(not that I think there is anything wrong with the thread itself, just that such a disperate number of people would be so drawn to it. It just makes me say WTF, are we fighting ignorance or looking for dates? ---

Your sig is so damn appropriate it’s almost ridiculous! Did you even read that thread? It’s one of the greatest ongoing stories ever. I never even posted in it, but checked back everytime something new happened. So that’s what? 20, 25 views right there. How many times does a normal person need to read the damn pit rules? And what is it with you anyway? Half of the posts you make contain wrong facts, half of the other half are apologies for the “gentle teasing” that you’ve made in the other half of the other half. **Askeptic** , I think its time we put you on the nap rule. Between the onset of thinking abut posting a pit thread, and actually composing one, you need to doze off for a while and see if it still seems so urgent. The thread you referenced is my favorite all time thread. I feel bad for those who haven’t read it yet. As for it having more views than pit rules, well let’s just say that some of us operate with a bit more common sense than others. I just know what is and is not appropriate in discourse, I don’t particularly need rules to guide me. ---

If you read what I said, I said I had no problem with the thread itself. I was just shocked that more people have viewed it than the number of people who have bothered to read the Pit Rules, in fact more people have viewed it than ALMOST any thread that I have noticed in my brief time here. While I mean no disrespect to JCOM, and I did enjoy reading the thread, it aint Hemingway. He expressed himself well but not well enough to justify your righteous defense claiming that he is a great writer and because he is such a good writer thats why over 16000 fuckin people have viewed it. Again my ire is not directed at JCOM, I thought it was a great post what I was complaining about is the exhorbitant number of viewers. If it was simply due to his writing ability then he should be selling books, not giving away his talent on the net. ---

Boy, your sig is 100% right. It is none of your business whether or not he shares his writing ability on this board. A lot of people share bits of their talent on the Internet. Many of them _are_ good enough to get paid for their talents, but they choose to share for free as well. They don’t _have_ to get paid for it in order to be deemed damned good at it. I don’t know if JCOM possess all the ingredients of a professional writer (I suspect that if he decided to, he could become one—perhaps he already is), but I do know that he spins a fabulous yarn and many of us have appreciated him for it. Perhaps, **askeptic** , it would be better to try a little harder not to be a dumbass in the first place. All of us here have said something stupid at some point; I remember vividly my near-meltdown, when probably the only thing that saved me was my DSL crashing. The trick is to stop doing it.
