Are you sure of that? I’d be taken aback if the word “bloody” in the sense of a curse word was used in a children’s TV program. Granted, it is a mild word and for older/teenage kids TV, no problem.

To this day I wouldn’t use the word bloody in conversation with my elderly mother, she would find it offensive. It is not a word I’d use when addressing a Judge unless there was a specific context.

It is a useful curse being mild and thus not overly offensive and can underscore a strong point being made. Its sort of like an exclamation mark within a sentence to express strong feelings.

Use it in the wrong place and tempers can flare.
