# WWII: Battle of Midway...why couldn't the Japanese have pressed on and captured the island?

Sure. Many experts on WW2 have asked why Mac blew it and other experts have written exhaustive books on what the Americans knew before Pearl- but you know more than they do, of course. And- i dont suppose you even _met_ Doug, did you? Let alone served under him for five years?
