Which system has the most/best realistic fighting games and the most/best comic book games?

These are the ones that I know of:

FIGHTING GAMES:

XBOX - Dead or Alive 3, Bruce Lee (though I heard this is terrible)

PS2 - Tekken, UFC 2 (is this on X-Box?), Pride FC, Rocky
COMIC BOOK GAMES:

XBOX - Superman

PS2 - I don’t know of any comic book games exclusive to the PS2

I own a PS2, but play games a lot on a friend’s X-Box. I really don’t know anything about that particular genre of game but will say that in my opinion the X-Box is a far superior machine. The graphics are better and the loading times are much quicker.

I’ve even compared Tiger Woods Golf 2003 side by side, and the difference was very noticeable.

That probably didn’t help you at all though, did it…

Xbox superman? Hahhahahaahhahahha:
Average score is 43%. Not very kosher. I was really wanting this game to be good too.

I like Buffy for xbox. Aquaman is coming out soon, I don’t know about it.

That new Batman: Dark Victory game is for xbox and PS2 and it got bad reviews also:

Both systems aren’t very good for comic book games.

I’m a big fan of Mortal Kombat:Deadly Alliance on PS2. Spider Man:The Movie is also pretty good in the comic genre. I’ve heard good things about Wolverine’s Revenge as well. Batman is shit, as well as Superman.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about MK: Deadly Alliance, from a friend who didn’t like any of the first 4 MK games but loved Virtua Fighter and DoA.

The best fighting game ever created is Soul Calibur - for which you will need a Dreamcast 🙂

Soul Calibur 2 is coming soon on PS2, XBOX or Gamecube tho - with different ‘extra’ characters on each - so take your pick really.

If you prefer your fighting less ‘brutal’ and more ‘technical’ then VF4 (or VF4 Evo) is your best bet bet - and that means a PS2.

I really don’t rate the UFC or DOA games frankly - and Rocky is available on XBOX and PS2.

PS2 also offers a better range of 2D fighters if that’s your bag - which blends nicely into comic-book games…

Which isn’t my field - sorry 🙂

p.s. I really disliked Spiderman - the camera was terrible and the game got tedious too quickly.

MK Deadly Alliance is ATROCIOUS tho - even dedicated MK fans don’t seem to like it.

Wolverines Revenge has been pretty-widely panned as well - I was going to rent but I’ve read nothing nice ☹

Buffy on XBOX is DAMNED enjoyable tho - does that count as a comic-book game? 🙂

WR is certainly a renter. The sad part is with a bit more effort it probably could have been a great game. It is worth the rental price though.

You allways get more choice with a PS2, but when the game is done well the XBox version is better than the PS2 version (with a few exceptions). I have a PS2, and would have recomended it 100% over the XBox because of the platinum release $20 games selection, but now XBox has it’s own platinum release software it is a much more even descision. If the price of games doesn’t matter to you, then you must be ritch enough to buy both systems. Currently second hand game market seems to be better for PS2, but you have to be more careful checking reviews etc. to avoid buying crud.
Cheers, Bippy

MK:DA is very good on the PS2. The fatality moves are excellent. I have also play Dead or Alive on a friends X-box, and that too is very good. I have also played Tekken 4, which is good but in my opinion not enough of an improvment over Tekken 3.

I think you could buy either system and still get good quality fighting games. It comes down to the X-box being a faster system, but it has a fairly small selection of games available. Whereas the PS2 is not as powerful, but has a much wider selection of games available.

As an update, someone mentioned Soul Caliber. A good friend of mine imported Soul Caliber 2 for the GameCube, and it absolutely rocks. Best fighting game ever. The GameCube version has a playable Link (from the Zelda games) (don’t get your hopes up, he has basically the same moves as those from SSBM). The Xbox version will reportedly include Spawn and I haven’t heard about the PS2 version. But rest assured, this game does indeed rock. Get it when it comes to the states in November.

I personally am not interested in the xbox because of the lack of IMO interesting games. xbox may have better graphics but PS2 has better games IMO.

\<misdirected Hi Jack!\>

PS2 has GTA3 and Vice City. The controllers are 57 times more ergonomic and natural in your hand. The End.
