# Xbox Discontinued?

After recurring hardware problems with my Xbox, I decided to replace it. The problem is that they seem to have vanished from local stores. Did Microsoft stop making them? I don’t want to buy an Xbox 360, at twice the price for the crippled model, and limited compatibility with existing Xbox games. Sony kept producing the PlayStation well after the introduction of the PlayStation 2. Am I screwed?

Well you can always get your current xbox repaired at a large number of places. Not sure if new ones are being sold or not…

Or Do what I do, and chuck it for a PS2.

Or check out the used market. eBay appears to have hundreds of them listed.

[Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) are still selling the xbox. I dont think it is discontinued because the systems are selling alongside the xbox 360 in most of the highstreet electronics shops in the UK.

They are selling the European version at [amazon.co.uk](http://amazon.co.uk), but not the American version at [amazon.com](http://amazon.com).
