Larry, I know the commercial you speak of. I wouldn’t call her a “super-model” rather some random stereotypical goth chick. Guy sitting in empty room with red velvet couch on the opposite end from goth lass. Looks at her, few flashy cut shots of her trying to look all gothy, he sidles on over (maybe they’ve been in the room for weeks so he thinks he now has a chance with her, I dunno), glances at her bossom and becomes sucked into some nether world of Nintendo gaming by the cube suspended over her breasts. Comes out of his video hell to find himself sitting next to a Gamecube. WTF? I don’t know what it was supposed to mean, but it sure didn’t make me want to buy a Gamecube. ---

I will say, though, that **Dead or Alive 3** is, in fact, a kick-ass game. Hot cartoon women are just a minor bonus. ---

However, with your reference to “penises “shooting” at stuff” in your earlier post, I have to wonder if Custer’s Revenge was indeed the game you had in mind. See, to me that seems a lot more like a game called “Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em”. Well I just got the Xbox and DOA3, yeah sure the chicks are hot, but it’s a video game. The guys in the game are pretty buff too, but I really don’t see a commercial of 2 girls sitting on the couch going gaga over the guys in the game. The target audience of the Xbox is guys between 18-30ish, so the commercial is aimed at that group. ---

Wrestling mags? Come on! As a video game player who has been using the female characters in fighting games for as long as they’ve been available I can assure you that there is something instrinsically satisfying about kicking butt with a hot girl. The show VIP stands testament to the appeal of that, no matter _how_ bad the plot 😃 And Michelle Yeoh from Crouching Tiger and Supercop and Supercop 2? Oh, my… I’d say its the principle of the thing, but I can remember strategically pausing the game in several locations or repeatedly doing some moves over and over to marvel at the “breast physics” engines. I am not certain why admiring a representation of an attractive, physically capable and extroverted female is in any way “sick” or “immature” on its face. Bring me the hotties! (FTR, Soul Calibur is much more appealing to me than DOA. Ivy’s finesse and prowess are incredible… she is pretty much the best character in the game, IMO… well, when she is in the hands of a skilled player like myself :)) ---

Well personally I always use the female characters in fighting games purely because I favour kick attacks and the females tend to be set up with better kicks. Sarah in the VF series rules in this regard. And Pai. And they tend to be faster and more “technical”, also suiting my gameplay. What? What? Stop looking at me like that! Kicking - that’s all it is!
