If anyone cares about my opinion at this stage (unlikely, but it was brought up), what I said on the topic **ivan** brought up was; “I thought UFOs and whatnot might be brought up, which is why I worded the OP as ‘conclusive’ - whatever your opinions, it’s clear that evidence is far from conclusive about extraterrestrial intelligence…” I would though consider it perfectly valid to answer the OP ‘the governments would cover it up, because…’ and then some reliable cites, GD being GD. ---

I wouldn’t expect to be taken seriously.) When pushed in this thread, and I know you didn’t want a debate here, you say that ‘of course’ you have no empirical evidence, and from what I’ve seen you hold your position regarding UFOs being explained by aliens, and a government conspiracy, due to a mix of assertions (‘the argumentum ad numerum, as you so cutely name it, consists mostly of military and professional pilot sightings and experiences’), anecdotal evidence (seemingly the bulk of Dolan’s work, from what I’ve read and what you’ve quoted) and arguments from ignorance (we can’t explain phenomenon x, therefore it must be aliens, or we don’t know what the government’s top secret projects are, therefore they must be covering up aliens). To be honest, 9 pages later I’m still not sure why you hold the position you do. The standards of evidence required for believing this stuff appear to me so low as to be functionally worthless in determining what is and is not real. ---

Oh, he’s already done that at some length in several threads. Essentially, he blames the vicitims for not having their shit locked up securely enough to keep him from being forced to swipe it. He also has a charming little story about moving from residential burglary to commercial burglary because of an unfortunate incident involving a local mobster from whom he stole. I disremember what it was, specifically, for which he did a jolt. ---
