xtisme, you seem like one crooked character

<nitpick>Le Jackmeoff is a two trick pony. He’s also afraid of girls.</nitpick>

and ponies.

The problem here is that you can replace xtisme with anything, and the sentence is still true.

A slightly damp kitchen sponge makes more sense than the OP.

See?

CMC fnord!

I fail to see why people from America are inherently more worthy of having a job than people from other countries.

American exceptionalism. We burning all your jobs!

Thank you. I’ve never understood this argument.

All your jobs are belong to us.

No jobs, no money. No money, no country. Duh.

I’m a little tired of hearing how the US shouldn’t be better than say, Libya.

Having babies may be ethical from a religious viewpoint but from a pragmatist philosophy it would be neutral to even unethical.

slight hijack but I was wondering…

If Lucy’s friend had a strong moral compass is she ethical or Ethylcal?

Thanks for your help.

What’s wrong with Libya? They’ve got a cool leader whose got a *fabulous *fashion sense!

Of course the US should be better than Libya. Libya should be better than Libya is now, that’s why Nato are there.

But any attempt to make the US (or anywhere else) better at the expense of another country, which the China war hypothetical does, in an ethical sense makes the US as bad or worse than it’s enemies.

sigh Why do I always get the weird pittings??

Well, my symbol is ‘~’ so I guess you have a point.

My moral compass doesn’t point ‘North’, I’m confused as to what is ‘ethical and and moral’ (I have to admit at this point that I AM somewhat confused), and so you are going to tell me what you believe is and isn’t ‘ethical behavior’?? Shouldn’t you be pointing out how my low morals and crooked nature are apparent in things I’ve posted?

I don’t see it as either ethical or non-ethical, to be honest. In fact, I’m not even sure what ethical means in the context of outsourcing. Perhaps you could use this as an obvious example of my non-North pointing moral compass and crooked nature.

Er…well, I’m pro-choice. What that has to do with where I stand on abortion being ethical, non-ethical or somewhat ethical I really couldn’t say.

I’m firmly opposed to embezzlement. Again, I don’t know where that puts me on the North to South facing moral compass. I also like puppies, FWIW.

What does this mean? That gays should be allowed to marry? I’m definitely for that. That gays have to marry or they are living in sin or something? I really don’t know what you are getting at with any of this.

I also like kittah.

Unless one is a politician, in which case it’s expected. I’m anti-lying. I also like baby seals and would never consider wearing baby seal skin boots or a black cape, FWIW.

Really, to paraphrase from Goldmember, there’s only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures…and the Dutch. But seriously, these days there are many decaffeinated beverages that are just as tasty as the real thing…try and keep that in mind, ok? And be careful out there…

-XT

You, sir, are worse than Hitler.

See now you just earned a pitting. Decaffeinated versions of regularly caffeinated beverages are NEVER as tasty as the real thing. So now I’m with the OP. Your moral compass does not point North…more like a North by NorthWest

Decaff is delicious and I won’t hear you slander it like that!!

Berating the putative ethical lapses of others while having wet dreams about a civil war that would undoubtedly kill millions of people: Priceless

You know who esle drinks decaf?

Libyans.

Thanks for this! I’m going to print it out, laminate it, and keep it in my wallet. That way, the next time I’m out and about, and anyone asks me about humanafterall’s moral compass on basic issues, I’ll have an answer straight away!

No need. I’m going to start a newsletter based on humanafterall’s moral compass. Subscriptions won’t be free, but the information they contain will be essential in daily activities - I suggest signing up, and paying for a membership for your neighbors as well.
