Last night comic relief was on BBC1. It’s a big teleton. [spoiler] 😃 I wasn’t taken in by the spoof bit. You could tell it was blue screen, and the script was much too corny - hardly anyone ever uses those earnest clichés seriously any more, and coming from someone like Ricky Gervaise it could only be parody. I loved the self-mocking banter with Oliver, Geldof and Bono, but thought the Merchant gags were lame. I’m not sure I remember who Andy Peters is…[/spoiler] ---

I think he’s one of the funniest people alive, and I’m ecstatic that he hasn’t sold out to act like a buffoon in a silly bad American movie. (see Alexie Sayle’s rant about this phenomenon in, IIRC, an episode of The Young ones)
