Ya know, SmartAlex, you're kind of a dick

Now wait a minute-I thought “tithing” referred to how much you donate to the church, not charity. Was I wrong?

No. Technically, “tithe” means “tenth-part,” and indicates the amount to go to the Church. But the only references to it are Old Testament.

Yeah, the foundation really does give a lot. I personally know 12 people thare going to Ivy League/ Top Unis because of the Millenium Scholarship. I’m not sure what all the scholarship includes or how many people it is given to, but I think it includes:

Schooling through a masters degree at the school of your choice (books, tuition, housing, and some spending money)

A free (top of the line) desktop and laptop with all the accessories each year.

Just my friends’ tuition will total well a couple million dollars. On top of that, I’m sure they aren’t the only ones getting that scholarship.

I have banned the subject, as he is a returning “guest”. In light of this, I’m closing this thread.

What’s the straight dope on tithing?

Too bad there isn’t a forum where you could ask questions like that. :stuck_out_tongue:
