# Yahoo Alerts Problem

A couple of days ago I lost the alert sounds in my Yahoo e-mail and IM, and was prompted to download Macromedia’s Flash 7 Player. I did down,load it and it shows as being on my computer. I enabled the Active-X controls and re-booted but I am still not hearing any sounds. My speakers and sound card work fine.
Any ideas? (I run XP)

I don’t know if this will help, but you might check your various media applications like WMP, Real Player, etc. as I have occasionally found in some systems that when the volume is down or muted in one of these that it will affect other applications. Look for anything and everything on your system that has a volume control. Can’t hurt and it may be the fix.
