# Yahoo Messenger Email Alerts

My question is a simple one, and I’m a bit chagrined that I can’t find the solution myself.
I’m constantly getting email alerts when I have Yahoo Messenger open, which is constantly because I chat with my girlfriend on it. How do I turn this off? If I want to check my Yahoo email, I will. I just don’t want to have it constantly informing me that I have another important email concerning penis enlargements or a possible lucrative career in real estate.
Any help is most appreciated. Many Thanks in advance.

Easy.
In the messenger window, click “Login” up top. Select “Preferences”, then “Alerts and Sounds”. Then click mail messages from the list of events, and deselect all four message options.
Presto- annoying messages gone.
