You know, just out of curiosity I checked out the Chicago version of The Straight Dope, and there was **Ed** , interacting with someone about something. Repeated requests for clarification going unanswered here, for example. Then all of a sudden there’s a thread about a change in the Pit rules and **whoosh** , he’s gone again. Isn’t **Ed** the administrator for **both** Dopes? If so, then this one seems to be a ship with no rudder and the _spirit_ to which **NineToTheSky** referred, is in danger of being lost. I feel that here I need to apologize, because now I feel like a “snoop”, and I probably broke a rule in referring to a discussion in another thread. So I do apologize, but I would like to reiterate that **my** relationship with _The Straight Dope_ is more than likely not the same as another Doper’s may be. It wasn’t _always_ that way, and there were times when I “showed my ass”. But it _is_ that way now, and I am very grateful to have thousands of friends to interact with and I’d like to protect that if I can. Again, sorry if I’m overreacting and sorry if I broke a rule by what I wrote, but everything I stated here is what’s in my heart. There is no sarcasm intended. Thanks Bill ---
