# Yankee Doodle

Here in Connecticut, where Yankee Doodle is our “State Song” the politically correct state legislature changed the lyrics from “with the girls be handy” to “with the folks be dandy.”

Several years ago when I was at Colonial Williamsburg, the tour guide told ust that “macaroni” referred to the style of powdered wigs worn by the men of the time.

An excellent and enjoyable article by Dex. I have only one tiny nit to pick. The last word of Cohan’s song isn’t “guy”, it’s “boy” (to rhyme with “joy”):
