My favorite part of the whole Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is that Bostonians cheer “Yankees Suck!” during non baseball events. 😃 Nothing like getting into the heads of your enemies. ---

Poetic justice. The instigator of the Sunday fights gets left in the game for one too many batters. What a boneheaded move by Grady talkslikeForrestGump Little. The Red Sox bullpen had been masterful to this point in the series, and five outs from the pennant Grady is too afraid of his star to use it. The curse of the goat isn’t with the Cubs, it’s with the Red Sox, and that goat is Grady Little. ---

Contrast the homegrown Yankees with the homegrown Red Sox. Homegrown starters for the Red Sox: Garciaparra Nixon Varitek Lowe You can do this comparison with most teams in baseball, especially those with higher payrolls (Mets, LA) and you will see (gasp!) that all these people complaining about the Yankees buying championships run into a problem when you actually look at the numbers. Now, were the able to pay these players once their contracts came up in a way that Montreal wasn’t and Oakland won’t. Yes. But the Red Sox have no reason to complain about this one. They tried to buy a team, and put together a good one. Not a great one.
