# Yaris or Rio?

I’m going to buy a car this week. Right now I’m driving a 91 Corolla with only 98,000 miles but it’s starting to have issues so I’m finally going to take the plunge. It’s been 16 years since I bought that car and I’m having major anxiety over the process. Today I looked at a Rio EX (2013 with 20,000 miles for $14,000) and a Yaris Sedan (2009 with 20,000 miles for $12,000). I like the Yaris because it has a manual transmission (since that’s what I’ve always driven) but I’m sure I could adjust to the automatic Rio. The Yaris is a bit of a tighter fit but I only drive in town and my commute is 2 miles so that might not be a problem.

So anyone have pros and cons for the two? Any advice would be appreciated.
